Inspiritive Sets the Standards for NLP in Australia

Inspiritive, Australia¹s leading NLP Neuro-Lingusitic Programming training organization, has been accredited as a Registered Training Organisation.

It is the first NLP training company in Australia, and possibly the world, to have an NLP Practitioner course accredited in a government qualification recognition scheme.

”We've been working toward this recognition for 10 years”, says Chris Collingwood B.A. MAppSc (social ecology). He and his partner Jules Collingwood RN, BSc, Postgrad Dip (conflict resolution) co-founded Inspiritive in 1992. “This means quality standards have been set for NLP training in Australia.”

”It is not just important for the students, it¹s important for NLP. For far too long, too many people with too little understanding, have been teaching what they think is NLP,” Chris said.

NLP co-creator Dr. John Grinder has supported Inspiritive's accreditation of NLP Courses, because he¹s been concerned by quality of some short courses. He provided the preface to Chris and Jules Collingwood's recently published book, The NLP Field Guide. More than 50 of the most important NLP processes are explained in its almost 400 pages.

”A lot of people know a little about the applications of NLP. There¹ve been a lot of NLP based sales and motivation techniques taught. You¹ll hear people talk about being visual or auditory for example. And much sports psychology is NLP based.”

There's also widespread knowledge in relationship with management, executive coaching, interviewing skills, health issues, advertising, rapport skills, and relationships.

”The problem has been that a lot of people know some techniques. Many more people talk about NLP than really understand it. Because it's a new field, with widespread applications, there¹s confusion between what NLP is, and what it can do,” Chris explains.

NLP explores the relationship between how we think (neuro), how we communicate both verbally and non-verbally (linguistic) and our patterns of behaviour and emotion (programmes).

”Traditionally psychology has been about studying the norm, but NLP deliberately focuses on the exceptions. It provides a methodology for modelling excellence in human behaviour,” Chris says.

Initially Inspiritive is offering nationally accredited qualifications in the Course in Practitioner in Neurolinguistic Programming and Certificate IV in Workplace Training and Assessment.

”Experiential training takes time, we want people to be able to do NLP, not just talk about it,” Chris says.

”We are teaching the underlying patterns of NLP, not just techniques and tricks. It is a practical skill transfer, and people are able to fit these patterns into their own lives.

”Our promise is to help students generalize the beneficial principles of NLP into their life and work.”

A thorough understanding and application of NLP means people have more choices in their behaviour, emotions and relationships.

”We can provide people with the ability to create the futures they want to live,” Chris says.

Inspiritive will continue to work with a network of other qualified NLP trainers in Melbourne, Brisbane, Perth and Auckland.
