This is one challenging part of the TV Presenters Class at On Camera Connection.

In order to give a sense of what's involved in a on-location lifestyle interview, we're visiting a market today.

You will find a likely interview candidate, ask politely if you can have a short chat to camera for a student exercise, and fit in with their commercial activities.

The interview should run no more than 4 minutes.

Be polite and grateful, they are giving you their time.

It may help their business for people to see the filming activity around them.

When you first talk to them, try to engage them, and do some research that will help in the interview. Seek 'hotspots' where they liven up.

The Interview: You have 4 minutes to get a great 40 second grab. The camera wants to see the person you interview come alive, and say something that will interest the audience (i.e. the class later). Remember the interviewing formulas.

The Standup Intro: is meant to set up the best bit of the interview. It should explain where you are – using 'you' to the audience, and setting up the questions you'll later answer. The intro must be energetic and attractive to the audience. Try jumping up and down a few times before you go for the take.

Please be creative with your throw to the interview.
